“I” Poem
I Am Blackbeard
I am the craziest and most malicious pirate of all time.
I lived during the 18th century.
I wonder if the vessel I spy is carrying valued cargo, like sugar, spices, and ivory.
I hear the ocean swaying, the sails flapping in the air, and the ship’s planks groaning.
I see land on the horizon.
I want all the doubloons and pieces of eight you have.
I am the craziest and most malicious pirate of all time.
I question if I can obtain ransom for these hostages.
I feel defiant, impervious, and proud when I successfully conquer my prize.
I touch the glistening coinage with my fingertips.
I worry about being captured by the Navy.
I cry, come to think about it, I don’t cry.
I understand how to manuever Queen Anne’s Revenge to successfully raid another ship.
I am the craziest and most malicious pirate of all time.
I say, “Only the devil and I know the whereabouts of my treasure, and the one of us who lives the longest should take it all.”
I believe in the Articles of the Queen Anne’s Revenge.
I dream to be the most authoritative pirate on the Atlantic Ocean.
I try to be the most terrifying pirate of all.
I hope to sail the seas forever.
I was once a privateer for the British government.
But now I am a headless pirate, lying on the bottom of the ocean’s floor.
I am the craziest and most malicious pirate of all time.
